Wellbeing & Vitality
Employee wellbeing is a top priority at TAUW. We believe that a healthy work–life balance supports long‑term employability, strengthens resilience and contributes to a thriving organisation. Wellbeing encompasses physical fitness, mental health and the opportunity to experience joy at work: because happy employees are productive employees. To support this, we introduced a wide range of initiatives across all TAUW countries in 2025.

In September, TAUW Netherlands held its fourth Vitality Day at the Boschbad in Apeldoorn, bringing together 230 colleagues from TAUW and Syntraal for an afternoon focused on physical, mental and social wellbeing. With support from the Royal Dutch Swimming Federation (KNZB) and the national men’s water polo team, participants enjoyed activities such as water polo, kickboxing, beach volleyball, walking challenges and the ever‑popular tug‑of‑war. The afternoon concluded with a relaxed barbecue, strengthening connections across teams and locations.
Employees in France took part in the national Mobility Challenge, encouraging environmentally friendly commuting by bike, public transport, carpooling or scooter. A Vitality Step Challenge further motivated teams to increase their daily movement and work towards shared activity goals.
TAUW Spain launched the iSalud digital wellbeing platform, offering employees free, 24/7 access to medical, legal and veterinary support. The platform provides instant chat and video consultations, electronic prescriptions and a Wellbeing Area with expert‑led content promoting healthier habits and emotional resilience.
Our Belgian colleagues contributed to mental wellbeing through the Happy@TAUW Playlist, a collection of employees’ favourite feel‑good songs aimed at boosting mood and encouraging open conversations about mental health. TAUW Belgium also highlighted National Compliment Day, colleagues were encouraged to share appreciation through digital compliment cards: a simple gesture that reinforces connection, recognition and overall wellbeing.

In Germany, mental wellbeing was emphasised through the OpenUp platform, promoted during Mental Health Day. Employees gained access to guided meditations, self‑study modules and check‑ins on topics such as mindful leadership and coping with change, reinforcing the importance of psychological safety at work.

Additional sporting activities across several countries, including football tournaments, cycling races, and running events, further encouraged colleagues to stay active, connect with others and contribute to a healthy lifestyle.
